Information about the permissions Cirus requires and why
When installing Cirus, your browser will warn you that Cirus has access to a long list of permissions that don't seem relevant.
Here's why you see this warning:
Chrome has specific, and sometimes broad, categories of permissions that extensions can access. Each category provides a certain list of permissions, and we can't pick and choose which permissions we get within each category - you get all or none.
In order to enable sharing of the data we do collect, we need to access one of these categories, which grants more permissions than we actually use. You'll see some of these permissions listed during installation.
In summary - The list presented during installation DOES NOT reflect what you actually share with Cirus. What data you share with Cirus and how its used is outlined here: https://cirusfoundation.com/your-data (edited)
